Focus hours

Sensory-Strength Workplace and sensory input

Fixed quiet blocks for the whole team.

A thirty-second question costs thirty seconds. Finding your way back into focused work often takes much longer. Fixed quiet blocks for the whole team give deep work a place, without one colleague having to keep asking for it.

When to use it

  • Someone seems tired or overloaded at work
  • Messages arrive through too many channels at once

Tip

Start with two mornings a week. What begins as an adjustment for one person works as a team agreement for everyone, and then nobody has to explain it.

What you fill in

  • Team or department
  • Which days?
  • What time
  • What do you agree?
  • And if it really cannot wait?
  • Who stays reachable?
  • Starting when
  • When will you check whether it works?

The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.

Focus hours: Customer Service team Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 9:00 to 11:00, we work quietly on our own work. We start on Tuesday 1 December. What we agree: • No meetings scheduled • Email and chat notifications off • Chat status set to "do not disturb" • Talking and calls outside the work area If it really cannot wait: Phoning is fine if something will go wrong for a customer today. Everything else waits until 11:00. Who stays reachable: Whoever is covering the customer line that week does not take part, and gets extra focus hours the week after. Put the block in your diary as a recurring appointment, titled "Focus hours, do not disturb". We will look together at whether it is working at the team meeting on Tuesday 12 January.
