Change announcement
Predictability-Strength Change
What changes, what stays the same, when, and what it means for you.
A change you announce without saying what stays the same leaves room for the worst-case scenario. This message says what is changing, what stays the same, when, what it means for the other person and what is not decided yet.
When to use it
- A change is coming (rota, workspace, team)
Tip
"What stays the same" is the most important field. If you do not know something yet, say when you will.

Hi team,
I want to let you know about the move to the third floor.
What is changing: We are moving from the second to the third floor. Everyone will have a fixed desk there.
What stays the same: Your working hours, your tasks, your team and your working-from-home days stay the same. If you have a fixed desk now, you will have one on the third floor too.
When: Monday 1 February. On Friday 29 January we pack up, from 15:00.
Why: The second floor is too full and too noisy. The third floor has more space, and there will be a quiet working room.
What it means for you:
• You will get a fixed desk; I will send the floor plan next week.
• Your things go into the moving boxes that will be ready for you.
• On Monday 1 February there is a short tour at 9am.
What is not decided yet: Exactly where the quiet working room will be. You will hear by 15 January at the latest.
Questions? Come to me, in person or by email. Would you rather ask in writing first? That is always fine.
Best wishes,
Hannah
