Team session "How do we work?"
Self-Strength Team
A session plan for a team meeting, built on the seven NeuroStrengths.
Everyone works differently, and in most teams nobody knows exactly how. A team meeting built around the seven NeuroStrengths makes it something you can talk about, without anyone having to share anything personal. You discuss how the work goes best, and you finish with agreements in writing.
When to use it
- As an organisation, we want to make a lasting change
- The team wants to work together better
Tip
Let everyone write quietly for two minutes first, and only then share. That way the people who do not speak first get room too, and nobody has to answer on the spot.
What you fill in
- Team
- When and where
- How long
- Which Strengths will you discuss?
- Who leads the session?
- Share the questions a week in advance
- For each question, write quietly first, then share
- What will you record at the end?
The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.

Team session "How do we work?": Customer Service team
When: Tuesday 8 December from 13:30 to 15:00, in the large meeting room, 90 minutes.
Led by: Olivia Hughes
Everyone works differently. In this session we talk about how the work goes best for each of us, and what we can agree as a team. Nobody has to say anything about themselves that they do not want to share.
How the session runs
1. Opening (10 minutes): why we are doing this, and the ground rules. Everyone shares only what they want to. It is about how we work, not about who someone is.
2. Sensory-Strength (15 minutes): Where and when do you work most calmly? What pulls you out of your work most often? First two minutes of quiet writing, then a round.
3. Predictability-Strength (15 minutes): What would you like to know in advance about a meeting, a conversation or a change? First two minutes of quiet writing, then a round.
4. Intention-Strength (15 minutes): How do you prefer to receive a question or a task: in person, by email, with or without an explanation? First two minutes of quiet writing, then a round.
5. Positive-Strength (15 minutes): What are you good at, and what could colleagues ask you for more often? First two minutes of quiet writing, then a round.
6. Agreements (15 minutes): what do we take with us? Three team agreements, in writing within a day and looked at again together in three months.
7. Closing (5 minutes): what was most useful for you?
These are the questions we will discuss. Feel free to think about them beforehand:
• Where and when do you work most calmly? What pulls you out of your work most often?
• What would you like to know in advance about a meeting, a conversation or a change?
• How do you prefer to receive a question or a task: in person, by email, with or without an explanation?
• What are you good at, and what could colleagues ask you for more often?
