Monthly check-in
Predictability-Strength Conversations
The same five questions every month.
A conversation about how things are going feels like an exam when it comes out of the blue. With a fixed rhythm and the same five questions every time, it becomes maintenance rather than an inspection. And you never need a reason to have one.
When to use it
- A conversation about work causes tension
Tip
Make it a little boring: same day, same questions, same order. That is exactly what makes it calm. End every time with the agreements in writing.

Hi Priya,
I would like to set up a regular check-in with you: every month, on the first Tuesday of the month at 10am, for about 30 minutes, in the small meeting room, or online if you prefer.
This is a regular slot to keep things running well. Nothing is at stake, and your working agreements stay as they are.
Each time we will go through the same questions:
1. What went well in the last period, and what made that possible?
2. What took more energy than it needed to?
3. Do your working agreements still fit, or is there something you want to change?
4. What is coming up for you in the next period, and is it clear when it is good enough?
5. What do you need from me?
You are welcome to answer the questions in advance, on paper or by email. Then nothing has to be thought up on the spot.
I will put what we agree in writing within a day, along with what stays the same.
Best wishes,
Olivia
