Unwritten rules
Predictability-Strength Onboarding
The rules that are written down nowhere, made visible together.
Every team has rules that are not written down anywhere: what time people really go home, when you can interrupt someone, whether Friday drinks feel compulsory. If you do not know them, you guess. And guessing costs energy. Make them visible.
When to use it
- A new colleague is starting soon
Tip
Fill this in together with the team, for example in a half-hour meeting. Whatever you write down becomes an agreement.
What you fill in
- Team or department
- Working hours and breaks
- Interruptions and availability
- Email, Teams and phone calls
- Meetings
- Drinks, birthdays and lunch
- Dress code and workspace
- When something goes wrong
The tool runs in your browser. Nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere.

How we work: Customer Service team
Working hours and breaks
Everyone starts between 8:00 and 9:30. Lunch is around 12:30; eating with others or on your own are both fine. After 17:30 nobody expects a reply.
Interruptions and availability
Headphones on means: not now, send a message. We respect "Do not disturb" in Teams. Urgent only means something that will go wrong today.
Email, Teams and phone calls
Email for anything that can wait. Teams for short questions. Phone calls only after a message first. A reply within one working day is fine.
Meetings
The agenda goes out the day before. Cameras on is optional. Decisions are in the notes within a day.
Drinks, birthdays and lunch
Friday drinks are a choice; nobody keeps track of who comes. On birthdays there is cake at 15:00. Signing a card is enough.
Dress code and workspace
Everyday clothes, except when visiting clients. You can set up your desk however you like.
When something goes wrong
We report mistakes straight away, without blame. Better one question too many than one too few.
