Interview invitation

Predictability-Strength Recruitment and selection

Who, where, how long, which questions, and what happens afterwards.

An interview often measures how someone presents themselves under pressure, not the work. Information in advance makes it fairer. This invitation says who is on the interview panel, how long it takes, which questions are coming and what happens afterwards.

When to use it

  • I am inviting someone to an interview

Tip

Describe the role in tasks, not traits. Not "resilient team player", but "each day you answer around thirty customer queries by email and phone".

Who is on the interview panel: • Hannah Clarke, customer service team leader • James Okafor, a colleague from the team How the interview runs: 1. Introductions and an explanation of the team (10 minutes) 2. Your questions about the role (10 minutes) 3. Our questions, which you can already see below (20 minutes) 4. Next steps (5 minutes) These are the questions we would like to talk through with you. You do not need to write out your answers; they are here so you know what is coming. • Which tasks in your last job did you enjoy most, and why? • Tell us about a customer query you resolved well. What exactly did you do? • What does a good working week look like for you? After the interview there is a short trial task of 20 minutes: replying to three customer emails. You can look up anything you need. Is there anything you need to show us what you can do at your best? For example the questions on paper during the interview, a quieter room, extra time or an interview online. Please let us know. You do not need to explain anything about yourself; we ask every candidate. We will let you know by Friday 20 November at the latest whether you are through to the next stage. Kind regards, Hannah Clarke
